A 59-year-old housewife from Metro Manila has become an instant multimillionaire after winning the P314.591-million Ultra Lotto 6/58 jackpot on January 5, 2025. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) confirmed that the lucky bettor claimed her prize at the PCSO central office in Mandaluyong on February 5.
According to PCSO, the woman purchased her winning ticket at a Mandaluyong mall, using the Lucky Pick system. The random selection led her to the winning six-digit combination: 36-46-16-19-23-27. She recalled that she and her relatives had been casually window-shopping when they spotted a lotto outlet and decided to place a bet on a whim.
A regular lottery player for the past five years, the winner said she never lost hope and always believed in the possibility of winning. She plans to use her newfound wealth wisely, setting aside a portion for investments while extending financial assistance to her family.
“To my fellow bettors, just keep trying if you have the budget because luck is real,” she shared. “Let’s also remember that by playing, we are helping others through PCSO’s charitable programs.”
Per PCSO regulations, jackpot winners must present the original signed ticket along with two valid government-issued identification cards to claim their prize. Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, lottery winnings exceeding P10,000 are subject to a 20-percent tax, reducing the net amount the winner will receive.
The PCSO reminds all lotto winners that they have one year from the draw date to claim their prize. Unclaimed winnings will be forfeited and allocated to PCSO’s charity funds, which support medical and social assistance programs for indigent Filipinos.
