As the Philippines braces for varying weather conditions, residents in Southern Leyte, Eastern Samar, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region should prepare for cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. This weather pattern is attributed to a Shear Line, which may lead to moderate to heavy rains. Consequently, there is a potential risk of flash floods or landslides in these areas.
In Eastern Visayas, a different weather phenomenon is expected. Cloudy skies with rains are anticipated due to the Northeast Monsoon. Similar to the aforementioned regions, residents should remain vigilant as there is a possibility of flash floods or landslides resulting from moderate to heavy rains.
Moving to the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon, the forecast calls for cloudy skies with light rains, caused by the Northeast Monsoon. However, the impacts are expected to be minimal, with no significant disruptions anticipated.
In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas, the weather forecast is relatively milder. Expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, attributed to the Northeast Monsoon. Thankfully, there are no significant impacts anticipated in these areas.
Mindanao, excluding the Northern Mindanao and Davao Region mentioned earlier, will experience partly cloudy skies to cloudy conditions with rain showers or thunderstorms. These localized thunderstorms pose a risk of flash floods or landslides during severe weather events.
In terms of wind and coastal water conditions, the western and eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, as well as the eastern section of Mindanao, should brace for strong winds from the Northeast. Coastal waters in these areas are expected to be rough, with waves ranging from 2.8 to 4.0 meters.
The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong winds from the Northeast, resulting in moderate to rough coastal waters with wave heights ranging from 2.1 to 3.7 meters. Similarly, the rest of Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters, with waves measuring between 1.2 to 3.4 meters.
