Aiza Seguerra Resigns As National Youth Commission Chairperson

Aiza Seguerra has resigned as the chairperson of National Youth Commission but his resignation is yet to be accepted by President Rodrigo Duterte.

The former child star turned public official has already resigned on March 5 but his resignation will just be official on April 5.

According to the report of Rappler, the resignation of the NYC chairperson will be accepted first by President Rodrigo Duterte before it will officially take effect.

It was said that Seguerra has already hinted the public about his resignation through his post on Facebook wherein he said “It’s done” on the same date, March 5.

Based on the source, the said post from the appointed government official received reactions from his fellow government officials who are serving the public then and now.

It was also mentioned in the report that he has been long thinking of leaving his post as the NYC chairperson.

Though the real reason of his resignation is not yet clear to the public because he haven’t released any official statement yet regarding this matter, there are already some presumed cause of why he resigned.

Reportedly, the former child star and singer is not already satisfied with the situation of the institution that he has been serving.

Based on the report, he is not happy with the “bureaucracy and was frustrated with its slow pace.”

Back in August 2016, Aiza Seguerra was appointed as the National Youth Commission chairperson by President Rodrigo Duterte. His partner, Liza Diño, was also appointed as the Film Development Council of the Philippines chairperson.

After serving in the NYC a year and a half, he now decided to resign.

Within that span of time, he championed the programs such as HIV awareness and youth representation in the government through Sangguniang Kabataan.
