In an explosive exclusive aired on GMA’s 24 Oras, Julie Aguilar Patidungan, also known as “Alyas Totoy,” broke his silence and directly implicated businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang and actress Gretchen Barretto in the long-unsolved case of the missing sabungeros (cockfight enthusiasts) across the Philippines.

Interviewed by veteran journalist Emil Sumangil, who has followed the case from the beginning, Patidungan introduced himself as the head of a security agency that was contracted to handle operations in Ang’s cockfighting farms and arenas. Patidungan is also one of those previously charged in connection with the string of disappearances.
During the interview, “Totoy” did not hold back. He explicitly named Atong Ang and Gretchen Barretto, claiming that the two were frequently seen together, hinting at a past romantic relationship. He claimed that Barretto had a “100 percent” involvement in the case because of her constant presence beside Ang during the height of the operations.
More shockingly, Patidungan alleged that some members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) were directly involved in abducting the missing sabungeros, which adds a disturbing layer of corruption and complicity to the case.
However, when asked about his role in the alleged crimes, Alyas Totoy denied any involvement. “I was merely following orders,” he said, implying he had no authority or knowledge about the ultimate fate of the victims.
Patidungan said he decided to speak out because he trusted in PNP Chief Nicolas Deloso Torre III, whom he believes to be incorruptible. That confidence gave him the courage to reveal what he knows, believing that justice might finally be served under Torre’s leadership.
The revelations made by Alyas Totoy have once again stirred public interest in the high-profile case, which remains unsolved years after the mysterious disappearances. Authorities have yet to respond to the new allegations, and representatives of Ang and Barretto have not issued any public statement as of this writing.
