Filipinos have varied reactions to the proposed Divorce Bill, where it can be seen that the majority of those who voted against it are male senators. These include Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Senator Francis Tolentino, Senate President Pro Tempore Francis Escudero, Senator Joel Villanueva, and Senator Ronald dela Rosa. On the other hand, those who support the proposal include Senator Robin Padilla, Senator Grace Poe, Senator Risa Hontiveros, Senator Imee Marcos, and Senator Pia Cayetano, most of whom are women.
Currently, the Philippines and the Vatican are the only countries in the world without divorce. Perhaps the conservative nature of Filipinos is one of the reasons why this proposal has not progressed. However, if we look at the present, we are gradually being influenced by Western countries. It may now be the right time to approve the Divorce Bill to keep up with modern times.
Many of our fellow citizens have long been separated from their spouses or partners. They are merely waiting for the law to be approved so that the termination of their previous relationships can become legal. The passing of the Divorce Bill will provide individuals with the opportunity to start anew and have a legal end to their current situations.
Among those who commented on the proposed bill is well-known actress Anne Curtis Smith. According to Anne, she noticed that most of those who voted “No” were men. She couldn’t help but express her opinion on social media, where she said, “Puro lalaki yung nag ‘no’. 😂” which seems to imply something. Her comment garnered attention from her followers and received various reactions.
Despite the differing opinions, the issue of the Divorce Bill remains a hot topic. For supporters, it is an important step towards modernization and recognizing each individual’s right to make decisions for themselves. For opponents, it is a step that might affect the traditional family values in Filipino society.

Lawmakers need to continue listening and giving proper consideration to the voices of the people. Whether the Divorce Bill is passed or not is a crucial decision that will bring significant changes to the lives of many Filipinos. Ultimately, the dream of achieving legal termination of unhealthy relationships may become a reality at the right time.
yes correct
yes correct , I’m not in favor of the devorce, the sanctity of marriage is no value at all.

Marriage requires 2 things; 1. Marriage license and 2. Marriage Contract. In some aspects of a civil society, license fuexpires so as any contract.. Driver’s License expires, Business license expires, lease contract expires, work contract expires too.
For the incoming couples in the future let their marriage contract have an expiry period. Let us say, 10 years or 15 years, this will bring a very simple way of divorce. There’s no more need to apply in court. All other regulations shall apply like child custody, conjugal properties as in placed in the Family Code.
If the couple likes to renew their marriage contract, they have to sign for a renewal.
