Obama Willing To Speak Out On Trump If He Needs To Defend U.S Values And Ideals
U.S President Barack Obama said he’s not a Trump’s critic but he’s ready to defend U.S values and ideals if Donald Trump or his policies will break it.
Obama said that he will step aside silently when he’s term has already ended and will allow his successor to govern the country. He also cited the former U.S President George W. Bush who have not been more gracious to him and he wanted to also do it with Trump to pursue his agenda.
Obama also said that his silence has a limitation, if Trump or his legislative proposals will argue or ask the U.S values and ideals, the U.S president is willing to defend those ideals if it’s necessary.
“As an American citizen who cares deeply about our country, if there are issues that have less to do with the specifics of some legislative proposal or battle or go to core questions about our values and ideals, and if I think that it’s necessary or helpful for me to defend those ideals, I’ll examine it when it comes,” Obama told reporters quoted by Philstar.
