Barangay Estefania, one of the 14 competing barangays of Bacolod, declared Sunday as Champion in this year’s Ruby Masskara Festival at Bacolod Public Plaza.
Barangay Estefania was also awarded as Best in Choreography and Best in Concept as special awards. Barangay Tangub was also declared as Best in Original Music, Best in Costume, and Best in Mask.

- CHAMPION: Brgy. Estefania
- 1st Runner up: Brgy. Tangub
- 2nd Runner up: Brgy. 16
- 3rd Runner up: Brgy. Banago
- 4th Runner up: Brgy. Bata
The champion received PHP 250,000; first runner up with PHP 175,000, second runner up with PHP 150,000; third runner up with PHP 100,000; and fourth runner up with PHP 75,000. All awardees also received trophies.
Despite heavy rains during the competition, Evelio Leonardia, the city mayor, thanked the public for not leaving the venue who were also celebrating the festival at the Bacolod City Public Plaza.
Meanwhile, Estefania Elementary School of Brgy. Estefania also won as Champion in the School Category (Elementary) of this year’s Street Dance and Arena Dance Competition.
“It was a last-minute decision for the barangay to join in this year’s MassKara Street and Arena Dance Competition, but then about a month-and-a-half of the practice of the 60-dancer team was all worth it,” according to Mark Philip Lamirez, the choreographer of Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City.
