Bureau Of Immigration Or BI Launched An Online Application For Visa Extension
Before the May ends, the Bureau of Immigration or BI launched an electronic filing and payment system for foreigners who wants to extend their stay in the country.
For the project, BI Commissioner Ronaldo Geron undersigned a memorandum of agreement including the Global Payments Asia, subsidiary for the largest online service provider of the country which is the Bank of the Philippine Islands.
“The online payment system will provide a convenient way to our clients to conduct their businesses in the bureau,” said Geron.
Geron explained that foreigners doesn’t need to go or lined up in the BI main office for them to extend their visa.
“All (foreigners) they have to do is to log on to the immigration website, www.immigration.gov.ph, fill up the form for visa extension, pay the amount through their credit card and wait for the printable receipts,” said Geron.
According to balita.net, the date was also stated in the receipt when the client needs to go in the BI main office to stamp his/her passport.
The BI chief added that the e-payment scheme is quick and safe especially, the government doesn’t need to pay for the project expenses. Also the minimal fee for each foreigner registrants is only P300.00.
