Mayor Osmeña stated that the major projects in Cebu City were identified by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in their Roadmap Study for Sustainable Development in Metro Cebu 2015 interim report.
Based upon JICA’s plans, of the 20 major projects half of them involves construction of flyovers worth P3.31 billion, while the other half, costing a little over P4 billion, covers the construction of underpasses in different intersections that have been identified as bottlenecks.
The newly-elected Mayor who made headlines earlier because of his plans to eradicate the menacing problems of dr*** in the city said that he wants all the major projects to solve the traffic problem in Cebu to be implemented within his term as City Mayor.

Some of the planned flyovers which will be constructed to ease Cebu’s traffic includes the corner of M.J. Cuenco Ave. and Juan Luna Ave.; Gen. Maxilom Ave. corner M.J. Cuenco Ave.; Osmeña Blvd. corner N. Bacalso Ave.; V. Sotto Sr. corner C. Arellano Blvd.; M.C. Briones St. corner UN Ave.; and P. Del Rosario St. corner Leon Kilat in Cebu City.
