An enraged Senator De Lima slammed back to Duterte and Aguirre after blaming her for the riot incident in the New Bilibid Prisons.
An emotional and at the same time enraged Senator Leila de Lima faced the members of the press to slam back to President Rodrigo Duterte and Department of Justice (DOJ) Sec. Vitaliano Aguirre II after blaming her for the riot incident inside the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).
Duterte and Aguirre put the blame on De Lima for the riot incident inside the national penitentiary where drug lord Tony Co died while the dubbed as “the lord of drug lords” Jaybee Sebastian was seriously hurt and was hospitalized with other high profile inmates.
Hours after the riot, Senator De Lima told the media in a press conference on Wednesday, September 28 morning, at the Senate that she is in doubt if there was any riot that took place because the involved personalities are the ones who are eyed to testify against her.
Sebastian and other drug convicts at the Bilibid are proposed to appear as witnesses at the House investigation on the proliferated illegal drugs inside the national penitentiary, including the alleged bagging of De Lima of drug money from drug lords.
The lady lawmaker questioned the hinting of House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez that there is a plot to bar Sebatian to stand as witness in the House committee on Justice inquiry.
The already high-pitched De Lima said that she might be blamed for the Bilibid riot.
