A birthday celebration paved the way for Mayor Digong Duterte and his ex-wife Elizabeth to see each other again.
Elizabeth Zimmerman, Mayor Digong Duterte ’s ex-wife, gave her full support to Mayor of Davao as she even skipped her chemo sessions to be with the Biyaheng Du30 journey.
The Biyaheng Du30 journey is a 30-day parallel campaign in the Visayas and Mindanao supporting Mayor Digong’s candidacy for the incoming 2016 presidential election.
Big question marks were left on the heads of the people who witnessed the reunion of Mayor Digong and his ex-wife Elizabeth at Elizabeth’s birthday celebration.
It has already been around 18 years since Digong and Elizabeth’s marriage was annulled. One of the reasons for the annulment was Digong’s philandering acts.
Despite the separation, the 68-year-old has been supporting her ex-husband’s pursuit to become the next president.
She even defended Mayor Digong from those accuse the 71-year-old man to be disrespectful to women.
She even said that there is no truth to the claim that Mayor Digong does not respect women.
Acknowledging that they’re still married in the eyes of God and the church, Elizabeth still uses Mayor Duterte’s surname. The two have three children.
They were already on their 25th year of marriage when the annulment took place.
Hoping to pull down the man who has the support of the majority, Duterte’s rivals in politics would often use his failed marriage and philandering to stain his career.
Going back to the reunion of the ex-couple, Duterte arrived two-hours late in the event.
Showing up at past 3 in the afternoon, Digong arrived with a birthday cake and a bouquet of red roses for Elizabeth.
Loud cheers from his supporters and relatives followed next as the mayor of Davao gives his ex-wife a kiss amidst the attendees of the event.
Their children Sara and Paolo were also there in the event.
