Drilon To Marcos ‘Surprise’ Hero’s Burial: “A Thief Even In Death”

Senator Franklin Drilon Calls Ferdinand Marcos a thief even in death, reminiscing Martial Law era until Marcos’ hero’s burial on Friday (November 18, 2016).

The stealthy and the hurried manner of Marcos family on the burial of Ferdinand Marcos’ remains at the “Libingan ng mga Bayani” was criticized by Senator Drilon. “Like what Marcos did for 21 years, he caught us off-guard like a thief in the night. His burial is anything but noble. Even in death, he is a thief,” stated by Drilon.

The sentiments of Drilon echoed the resolution was filed by Senator Risa Hontiveros who opposes Marcos burial at LNMB. Hontiveros said that Marcos’ cruelty can’t be erased by having a hero’s burial for it is already a historical fact.

Hero’s Burial

She also claimed that until the end Marcos is a thief, his fake hero’s burial was a stolen moment. Risa also said the truth about Marcos will never be erased in the Philippine history and there’s no grave, mausoleum, or court order that can change the fact that Ferdinand Marcos is not a true hero.
