Police authorities arrested a drug addict couple after they were caught “bumabatak” while being live on social media.
Two individuals were arrested in Alcala, Pangasinan, for going live on social media while using the illegal narcotic “shabu.” The woman was spotted in a live stream showing her followers a sachet containing suspected shabu, according to GMA Regional TV.
The event was reported to the police by the suspect’s uncle, according to Alcala Police Major Virgilio Cruz. The uncle allegedly spotted the woman photographing herself consuming illegal narcotics while watching the live broadcast.
“Nag-report itong tiyuhin niya, napanood namin sa may [social media] account nagla-live siya, bini-videohan ang kaniyang sarili na gumagamit siya ng shabu,” Cruz said.
As a result, police have launched an investigation into the suspect. During the operation, a female drug user was discovered alongside another male suspect who was in possession of illegal narcotics.
The two suspects were found with three sachets of suspected shabu. According to the police report, two people tested positive for the substance.
Meanwhile, a 52-year-old teacher was arrested on Monday in Iguig, Cagayan, for reportedly peddling suspected shabu. The suspect was apprehended by Cagayan Police after reportedly selling sachets of shabu to a police officer who purported to be a buyer in Barangay Redondo.
When the suspect, a police officer, became aware of the transaction, he instantly mounted a motorcycle to flee, but he was apprehended as well. He is suspected of breaking the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
