De Lima Personally Received P1.5-M Drug Money, According To Durano

P1.5 M drug money was personally received by Senator Leila De Lima from Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz, according to a convict named Engelberto Durano’s statement on Thursday (October 06, 2016).

Previously, Senator Leila De Lima has allegedly linked to the illegal drug trade happened inside and outside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP). During the third hearing of the House of Representatives committee on justice regarding this case Durano was one of the witnesses.

According to Durano, he referred Diaz to Ronnie Dayan, De Lima’s former driver, who request to raise funds for De Lima in exchange for protection. In January 2014, Durano told Diaz about the protection money then he became more interested.

Drug Money

Engelberto said that a total amount of P27.3 million received by Diaz through three BDO bank accounts from Dayan’s illegal drug transaction with him. Durano tried to raise funds by borrowing money from Noel Martinez when Diaz instructed to help him to raise the amount of P1.5 million pesos in between of November and December 2014.
