Duterte on the cover of Time Magazine Asia edition
Presumptive President-elect Rodrigo Duterte graces the cover of May 23rd Asia edition of Time Magazine.
The soon-to-be proclaimed 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines is being featured on the world-renowned periodic publication with the headline: “The Punisher- Why Rodrigo Duterte is the Philippines’ New Leader by Charlie Campbell”.
The photo of Duterte on the magazine was taken by veteran photo journalist Edwin Tuyay.
According to ABS-CBN News, Time Magazine describes Duterte as “Tough-Talking Davao City Mayor” who is criticized for his rude remarks.
The latest Asia edition of Time Magazine also lists some of the issues that he will inherent from the previous administration such as the West Philippine Sea dispute with China and inclusive growth for the poor.

Meanwhile, in the latest partial and unofficial tally of COMELEC, Duterte is still dominating the presidential race with more than 15 million votes.
Other candidates; former DILG secretary Mar Roxas, Sen. Grace Poe and Vice President Jejomar have already conceded on the presidential election which was simultaneously held in the country last May 9, 2016 in more than 90,000 polling centers nationwide.
