Director Joyce Bernal revealed that she did something during the SONA 2018 of President Rodrigo Duterte that’s never done before in previous SONAs.
Prominent TV and movie director Joyce Bernal was the one who directed the SONA 2018 of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Early this month, Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar has already confirmed that Bernal will direct the third SONA of Duterte.
Previously, it was internationally-acclaimed director Brillantes Mendoza who directed the first two SONAs of the President.

After the event, Direk Joyce Bernal revealed that there was one thing she did during the SONA 2018 which was not done before.
Based on the article published in Bandera, she said that she used beauty light which was placed at the podium of the Chief Executive.
“May beauty light tayo sa podium na wala pa yatang gumagawa nun. Tina-try naming soft light to make it beautiful,” the director revealed.
She also said that she initially planned to use drone but it was not allowed for the safety of the President.
According to Bernal, a total of 19 cameras were used during the live SONA 2018 coverage.
She admitted that she felt very nervous in directing the event.
“Nakaka-tense talaga. Si direk Brillante (Mendoza) ang mga insert niya lang, mga black and white. Kami naman po color at saka tiningnan talaga namin yung framing ni President na magaganda,” she shared.
She specifically pointed out the framing of the President in which he was seen interacting with the people.
Based on the article, there were a lot of people who liked how Joyce Bernal directed the SONA 2018.
It was also said that they hope she will still be the one who will handle the next State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte.
