In the 2023 Forbes list of Best Employers, San Miguel secures the 43rd position, boasting a workforce of 50,433 employees, distinguishing it as one of only five Asian companies to make it into the top 50.

South Korea’s Samsung Electronics, with a workforce of 270,372, claims the title of the world’s foremost employer, surpassing renowned Western giants like Microsoft (221,000 employees), Alphabet (190,234 employees), Apple (164,000), Ferrari (4,919), and IBM (288,300 employees).

The second-highest ranked Filipino employer is Security Bank, led by Chairman Frederick Dy of St. Luke’s Medical Center, securing the 54th place with 7,338 employees.

Following closely is Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co., under the ownership of the Ty family, at the 162nd position with 10,000 employees.

Ayala Corp., helmed by Jaime Augusto Zobel De Ayala and employing 47,747 individuals, secures the 186th spot, while Andrew Tan’s Alliance Global Group, with 32,955 employees, claims the 283rd place.

The Land Bank of the Philippines, overseen by Lynette V. Ortiz and employing 10,000 people, stands as the sole government entity on the list, ranking at No. 304.

Lucio Tan’s LT Group, with 14,290 employees, secures the 361st position, ranking as the seventh-best among Filipino companies on the list.

Meanwhile, SM Investments of the Sy family captures the 420th spot, boasting the highest number of employees among Filipino companies, with an impressive 140,000 in its workforce.
