El Nido is now viral on the social media because of its garbage.
El Nido is now taking the social media after a netizen bloated the issue about the complains of the residents about the garbage found along the shore of Barangay Corong-corong, El Nido, Palawan.
The residents are keep complaining about the trash washes up along El Nido shores. According to a report, the garbage are brought by the south-west monsoon.
El Nido is at the northern tip of Palawan and Greenviews Resort is situated in the barangay of Corong-Corong on a quiet beach just 3 kilometers from the town.
The residents of the place have already conducted a coastal clean-up and started to clear the garbage waste along the shore but they still need the help of the local government unit.
According to a report, after residents complained, the provincial government of Palawan, upon learning about the issue, immediately set an appointment with the newly-elected El Nido mayor.
The provincial government said to an interview that they will construct the El Nido Solid and Water Waste Treatment Plant but it will take 18 months and will need P287 million.
The government admitted that the garbage is one of the biggest their biggest problems in the municipality, but now they are working for the solution by implementing some coastal clean up
The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development said to an interview that the garbage has a negative impact on the marine ecosystem. The government is now taking some steps in finding their solutions for cleaning their shores, but they urged residents to cooperate and to resolve the problem by properly dispose their waste.
