Enrile Told Critics He’s Not Going to Die Yet After Hospitalized Due to Covid
Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile took social media to inform his critics that he is not going to die yet after being hospitalized due to the virus.
After being sent to the hospital, he said on Facebook on Monday, June 27th, that he would not be able to attend President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s inauguration. The former senator will now serve as BBM’s main presidential legal advisor.
According to his post, coronavirus caused him to be sent to the hospital immediately (COVID-19). Enrile, on the other hand, assures his critics and foes that despite being hospitalized and his advanced age, he would not pass away just yet.
“To all my FB friends, critics, and enemies: Please bear with me. I am in the hospital. To my critics and enemies: Do not clap with glee. I am not going to die yet. Far from it. God gave me very good doctors,” Enrile wrote in his post.
He has Covid-19, although he doesn’t experience any physical discomfort. He said that since being identified as “positive” for the COVID virus three (3) days ago, when he first went to Makati Medical Center, he has experienced no pain, chills, fever, headaches, or malaise, and his body temperature has ranged from 36° to 36.8°.
“My body oxygen ranges from 96 to 99. All my physical vital signs and blood chemistry readings were normal. The only thing I had was a dry intermittent, sometimes intense, coughing. The CT-SCAN showed that I had mild COVID-19 pneumonia,” he said.
“I informed the Executive Secretary the Hon. Victor E. Rodriguez, about it and requested him to inform the President and ask him that I be excused from attending the oath-taking ceremonies of the President and the Vice President on June 30th at noon because I will still be in the hospital by then to complete the anti-viral regimen prescribed by my doctors,” Enrile added.
