FBI and Dubai Police Probe Ilongga Vlogger “QueenKix Bugris”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Dubai Police General Headquarters have been called upon to investigate an Ilongga vlogger accused of defrauding her social media followers through a deceptive jewelry investment scheme. The vlogger in question, Jinky Miraflores Carpio, who goes by the name QueenKix Bugris on Facebook, has reportedly scammed multiple individuals, leading to serious financial losses and even a tragic case of suicide due to depression caused by the scam.

Mary Joy Derla-Ward, an Ilongga nurse based in Los Osos, California, initiated the request for an investigation. Ward, along with several other victims, claims to have been lured into investing in Carpio’s jewelry venture, only to discover that it was a well-orchestrated scam. According to Ward, Carpio used her social media influence and charm to gain the trust of her followers before exploiting them for financial gain.

“I am exposing her and stopping her from scamming more people. Someone even committed suicide because of depression from being scammed by Jinky. She is a big-time scammer,” Ward told Panay News.

Ward recounted how she first encountered Carpio on social media in January 2023. Initially, she was drawn to Carpio’s live videos, which were a mix of humor and outspoken criticism of the Philippine government. Over time, Carpio began to send Ward private messages, soliciting donations for charitable causes such as helping underprivileged individuals in the Philippines or feeding stray dogs in Iloilo City.

Ward admitted that she made regular donations every two weeks, despite having doubts about where the money was going. The situation escalated in July 2024 when Carpio offered Ward a partnership in a business that involved selling gold jewelry from Dubai to the United States. Believing it to be a lucrative opportunity, Ward wired $5,000 to Carpio’s son’s girlfriend, Clarise Gabasa, as instructed. However, the promised jewelry never materialized.

Ward said she later discovered that Carpio had multiple arrest warrants in the Philippines and was hiding in Jumeirah, Dubai. After realizing she had been scammed, Ward began researching Carpio online, uncovering numerous complaints from other victims. This prompted her to alert the Dubai police and the FBI, hoping to bring Carpio to justice and prevent further scams.

The case has now attracted international attention, with both the FBI and Dubai police reportedly investigating the matter.
