Female Showbiz Personality Allegedly Involved in Missing Sabungeros Case

A well-known female showbiz personality has been implicated in the mysterious disappearance of over 100 sabungeros (cockfight enthusiasts), according to “Totoy,” one of the accused in the high-profile kidnapping case. The revelation was made in a televised report by journalist Emil Sumangil on GMA Network’s 24 Oras on Thursday.

Missing Sabungeros

Totoy, who is currently facing charges, revealed that the celebrity in question is named in an affidavit he plans to submit to authorities. While he refused to identify her publicly, Totoy claimed that she was part of the so-called “alpha” group — a core circle allegedly involved in orchestrating the abductions.

“May isang babaeng celebrity, di ko naman pangalanan at alam na nila yan. Kasama siya sa alpha member. Ibig sabihin kasama siya sa grupo,” Totoy stated. He further alleged that the celebrity attended key meetings and played a crucial role in the operations.

“Isa rin siya ‘pag nagmeeting-meeting andu’n siya. Isa rin siya na susi kung sakali. Siya ang mas marami din alam,” he added, stressing that she holds significant knowledge that could aid the investigation.

Totoy said he is currently finalizing his affidavit and gathering supporting evidence. He is also hoping others with knowledge of the case will come forward to strengthen his claims.

The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has since opened a preliminary investigation into Totoy’s accusations. Napolcom Vice Chairperson Atty. Rafael Calinisan made a public appeal for the complainant and other possible witnesses to come forward.

“Ang pinaka-susi dyan lumutang ang complainant… Siya ay dapat maghahin ng kanyang reklamo sa Napolcom. Aksyunan natin ito,” Calinisan said during a media briefing.

He also addressed concerns that members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) may be involved in the case.

“Ang Napolcom ang pulis ng pulis… ‘Di tayo magdadalawang isip kung kailangan natin disiplinahin at tanggalin sa serbisyo at i-dismiss ang mga involved na police, gagawin natin ito,” he asserted.

The case of the missing sabungeros has gripped national attention since early 2022, with families of the victims demanding justice and transparency. If Totoy’s allegations prove credible, the inclusion of a public figure in the investigation could mark a major turning point.
