Daly City Council Seat Wins By Filipino-American Woman
The dream of Juslyn Manalo comes true for becoming the first Filipino-American woman council member of Daly City, California.
Juslyn was born in San Francisco and moved to Daly City when she was eight years’ old. She was elected as the first Filipino-American council member of the city. She said that she really honors to serve the place.
While still finding a new house in Dala City, Manalo said that she will fight her fear of gentrification. Manalo has non-profit organizations working background in San Francisco such as Community Engagement Associate for Forest City Enterprises in the private sector, the Bill Sorro Housing Program, and Veterans Equity Center.
Manalo said that more jobs, housing, and revenue to assure the services that they won’t be interrupt are the possible areas for her responsible development in Dala City. Also, they were looking for a hotel with a conference center so that the tax from the hotel could be used to help the community.
