Fire Hits University of the East (UE) Manila (Photos and Video)

A fire broke the Manila campus of the University of the East (UE) at San Sebastian Street in Recto Avenue on April 2, 2016.

According to Fire Officer 3 Fatima Felix of the Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (BFP-NCR), the blaze struck at exactly 9:35 a.m. and it was placed under control at 10:38 a.m.

The local authorities have yet to confirm if the building affected accommodates the college or high school department. But according to Dawn, the official student publication of the university, the fire started in the College of Arts and Sciences building of the institution.

Based upon the report of Rappler, there are no reported casualties as of this time. Felix also noted in a press interview that at least 25 firetrucks have been deployed in the area.

The catastrophe has scaled to Task Force Charlie alarm, which means that the Deputy Regional Director should take over as the Ground Commander.

Just yesterday, an incident of fire took place at the Faculty Center of the University of the Philippines Diliman campus at around 1 a.m.
