Former President Marcos will be laid to rest in Libingan ng mga Bayani on September 18.
FORMER PRESIDENT MARCOS – After years of preserving the late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., finally the go signal for him to be put on his final place of resting is at hand.
One of the shadows left by the Martial Law Regime in the history of the Philippines is the decision on where to finally lay down the late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
Though deemed to be laid down in the Libingan ng mga Bayani for his positions while he is still in service, the victims of human rights during the term of the late President were strongly against it as reported in Phil Star Global.
Yet recently, his son, former Senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., announced that they will soon lay down his father on Libingan ng mga Bayani as the President has already approved it.
During the 2016 election, this matter was addressed to the running presidential candidates and each were asked to give their stand. Even then, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has already been vocal that he is into setting Libingan ng mga Bayani as Marcos’ final resting place.
