FVR headed to China as special envoy for the talk over the disputed islands.
FVR – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has entrusted the talks with China to former Pres. Fidel V. Ramos with regards to the disputed islands between the China and the Philippines.
The conflict between the two countries, China and Philippines, who claim the ownership of the West Philippine Sea has not ended after the International Court has released its final verdict.
Even before the result was released the Chinese government has already laid down their side that they will not be considering whatever is the result.
Despite the International Court siding to the Philippines as the real owner of the territories and even emphasizing that what the China has done is a violation of the territorial sovereignty of the country, still the Filipinos cannot make use of the islands.
The Philippine President in his first State of the Nation Address has vowed to the people that his administration will prefer peaceful resolution on the issue.
For the talk with China, the President appointed the former President Fidel V. Ramos to take charge of the matter.
