Pangasinan, Philippines – Senator Leila De Lima gave her driver a two-story residential white house as a gift. The said house is located in Brgy. Galarin, Urbiztondo, Pangasinan. President Rodrigo Duterte earlier reveal that the senator and her driver was in a relationship.
The President linked Senator De Lima to the illegal drug trade. Duterte said that the senator’s driver acted as her bagman who collected drug payoffs for her. Duterte said that the senator was in a relationship with her driver.
Inquirer visited the province where the said white house will be found. However, the neighborhood in the area was tight-lipped about the issue and the private lives of the senator and her driver.
The neighborhood of the driver would neither confirm nor deny the issue that the house was a senator’s gift for her driver.
The Chieftain of the village, Rodolfo Licuanan, said that the senator’s driver does not only owns the white house. Licuanan said that the senator’s driver also owns an orange bungalow located about 100 meters from the two-story white house.
Inquirer confirmed the identity of the senator’s driver as Ronnie Palisoc Dayan. The man has two married children with their families and his youngest child that is still in high school.
According to the people in the village, the senator and her driver was often seen in the area and even in the market place. They said that the senator stayed several times at the white house when she was still visiting the village.
Senator Leila De Lima was the former justice secretary and human rights commissioner, who condemned the former Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte regarding to the underground group of people who annihilates drug dealers.
De Lima said that the annihilation was the result of President’s war against illegal drugs. The senator has cited that the consecutive cruel eradication of unknown persons alleged as drug lords is very inhuman.
