Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, a member of the most influential political family in Cavite denies report about a supposed offer from Pres. Rody Duterte. Gov. Jonvic Remulla clarified that he did not receive any offer to sit in the Cabinet of Pres. Duterte despite his family’s support for the Davao City Mayor.
During the election period, Gov. Remulla was an avid supporter of Vice President Jojo Binay but later on he decided to switch his allegiance to Mayor Duterte because of the people’s clamor for change in Cavite.
Before Remulla decided to withdrew his support to VP Binay, the Vice President said that he preferred Gov. Jonvic to head the Department of Interior and Local Government should he win the presidency.
Right after the victory of President Rody Duterte, Remulla went to Davao City to congratulate the winner in the Presidential race which caused speculations on social media that he is seeking a Cabinet post.
Gov. Remula then clarified the issue during the sidelines of the 118th celebration of Philippine Independence Day in Kawit, Cavite.
In an interview with the media, the head of Magdalo Party in Cavite province responded by saying that nothing was asked and nothing was offered to him by the Duterte administration.
According to Gov. Remulla he just wished Pres. Duterte good luck and Godspeed because he will do a good job for the Philippines.
