Gov’t Employees to Recived SRI from President Marcos

In a move set to bolster morale and provide welcome relief to the nation’s civil servants, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is expected to grant a one-time Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) to qualified government workers. The announcement, made by Malacañang on Friday, signals a commitment from the administration to recognize the dedication and hard work of personnel across all branches and instrumentalities of the government.

During a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed that the President is expected to sign the necessary document soon to formalize the release of this anticipated incentive. The news has been met with positive anticipation among state workers, particularly as the holiday season approaches.

While the exact date and specific details remain under wraps, Castro assured the public that the administration is working diligently to finalize the grant. When pressed for a timeline for the SRI’s release, Castro urged patience, simply stating: “Hintayin po natin (Let’s wait).” She nevertheless provided a strong assurance, noting that the Palace would deliver the “good news” once the official document is formally issued and released to the public.

This year’s expected SRI follows a precedent set by President Marcos Jr. in the previous year. In December 2024, the President issued Administrative Order (AO) 27, which authorized the grant of the SRI for fiscal year 2024. That order saw qualified government personnel, including vital sectors such as teachers and the military and uniformed personnel (MUP), each receive a substantial $P20,000$ incentive.

The SRI is a crucial financial benefit that acknowledges the exemplary performance and essential contributions of government employees. It serves as a tangible expression of gratitude for their continued service, particularly in the face of ongoing economic challenges and the complex demands of public work.

All government personnel are encouraged to await the official issuance of the new Administrative Order. Details on the specific amount of the SRI and its scheduled release date this year will be announced once the AO is officially signed by President Marcos Jr. and made public. The move underscores the administration’s policy of prioritizing the welfare and well-being of its dedicated workforce, ensuring they are recognized for their invaluable role in nation-building and public service delivery.
