On September 4th, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) announced the temporary suspension of the noontime show “It’s Showtime” following allegations of violations of the agency’s rules concerning a segment titled “Isip Bata”. This is related to the actions of the hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez in that segment of the program.
However, amidst the suspension of the program, an important announcement was made by one of the hosts of “It’s Showtime,” Jong Hilario. Jong emphasized that their decision is not final, and they will file an appeal with the MTRCB for reconsideration. According to them, they believe they did not violate any agency rules or regulations.
While awaiting the official decision of the MTRCB, “It’s Showtime” will maintain open communication with the agency to clarify all issues and discuss any necessary steps. Despite the suspension, they will continue their mission to bring joy and entertainment to their loyal fans.
In a message from “It’s Showtime,” their team wholeheartedly thanked all the supporters and fans of the program. They expressed their gratitude for the continued patronage and understanding of their audience amid the changes happening in their show.
The events of the past few days highlight the importance of clear communication and cooperation between production and regulatory agencies like the MTRCB. Through this collaboration, “It’s Showtime” hopes to have the opportunity to explain their side properly and continue their goal of bringing happiness and inspiration to Filipinos.
