Jay Sonza Disagrees with the Appointment of Clarita Carlos as NSA
Veteran journalist Jay Sonza appeals to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr to flag National Security Adviser (NSA) Clarita Carlos.
A seasoned journalist appears to be opposed to the selection of a former University of the Philippines (UP) professor as the current administration’s national security adviser (NSA) on Facebook. Sonza uploaded his letter to PBBM on Facebook, asking Carlos to keep quiet first, particularly when it comes to the New People’s Army (NPA).
“It would do well for Mr. Marcos to zip Clarita Carlos’ mouth once in a while, especially on matters related to the NPA,” said Sonza.
“Mr. President, kaming mga taga-nayon at parang ay malapit ng maniwala na maling-mali ang pagkakapili at pagkakahirang mo kay Ms. Carlos bilang punong tagapayo sa larangan ng pambansang seguridad,” he added.
This is what the journalist’s supporters also want. The professor needs to learn how to turn down interviews, a netizen who agreed with this stance stated. She noted that, given her position, Carlos was speaking too loudly and carelessly.
You may remember that Carlos made a controversial claim concerning supposed NPA recruitment in schools. Carlos asserts that students have the right to select their own course of study. Carlos, however, made it clear that they would not dissolve the NTF-ELCAC, which is opposing the NPA.
