LTO Says Jose Antonio Sanvicente is Still Allowed to Register New Vehicle
The viral hit and run suspect Jose Antonio Sanvicente is allegedly still allowed to register a new vehicle, according to Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Jose Antonio Sanvicente’s license has been permanently suspended, however the LTO has confirmed that he will still be able to register a new vehicle. According to Romeo Vera Cruz, the LTO officer in charge, the prohibition against Sanvicente registering new vehicles is no longer under their control.
As a result, Sanvicente will no longer be able to legally drive but can still purchase a new vehicle. As retribution for what he did to the security officer he hit, Sanvicente, on the other hand, is permitted to hire a driver to drive for him.
“Hindi po. Wala po tayong authority to do that,” said Cruz in his statement. “Kasi it is his right to buy yung mga motor vehicle. Iba lang ang mag-drive. Wag lang siya, kasi wala siyang license.”
You may recall that Sanvicente didn’t make another public appearance until after a press conference at the PNP headquarters. Despite being a suspect in a hit-and-run, he went home without being detained by the police.
On the other hand, internet users were unable to hold back their anger at the PNP’s top brass over the alleged VIP treatment that Sanvicente, who is thought to be a relative of a senior officer, received.
