June 2025 MedTech SPLE Results: No Passers, Says PRC

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), through the Board of Medical Technology, has released the results of the June 2025 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for Medical Technologists. In an unexpected outcome, the PRC announced that no examinee passed the said licensure exam.

The SPLE was conducted on June 6 and 7, 2025, in designated testing centers located across the Middle East and Singapore, catering primarily to Filipino professionals working overseas. Despite the anticipation surrounding the release of the results, the PRC confirmed that none of the examinees met the required passing standards.

The Board of Medical Technology, which oversees the licensure exams, is chaired by Dr. Marilyn A. Cabal-Barza, with members Dr. Leila Lany M. Florento and Hon. Maria Lourdes L. Gatbonton. The board ensures that the integrity and standards of the Medical Technology profession are maintained through rigorous evaluation.

Typically, the SPLE includes the publication of a complete list of passers, the Top 10 examinees, and school performance summaries. However, due to the unprecedented zero-passer result, these sections are understandably absent in the June 2025 cycle.

The SPLE serves as an alternative testing opportunity for qualified Filipino professionals based abroad who are unable to take the regular board exams in the Philippines. With this development, many hopefuls will now likely need to review their performance and prepare for future examination schedules.

The PRC is expected to announce the next SPLE schedule for Medical Technologists later this year. Examinees and institutions are encouraged to monitor PRC’s official channels for updates.
