JUST IN: Philippines Records All-Time High Cases Of COVID-19 With 3,954 New Infections
COVID-19 PHILIPPINES – The Philippines records a record-high number of coronavirus infections with 3,954 new cases.
Yesterday, the number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines was 84,486. Since August, the average number of coronavirus infections was at 2,000. However, as the month of July nears its closing, an unprecedented spike of almost 4,000 cases was reported by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
In the latest meeting conducted by the IATF via teleconference, the IATF resolution No. 60 was unanimously approved and adopted.
Earlier this month, Experts from the University of the Philippines predicted the country would record over 80,000 cases by the end of August. But, with the recent explosion of COVID-19 infections, they adjusted their predictions and forecasted over 140,000 cases by August’s end.
Recently, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Metro Manila may be placed under a stricter modified ECQ if the number of cases reach 85,000 by the end of July.
This is a developing story.
