“It was a mutual and mature decision”: Kirk Bondad Shares Insights on Split from Kathleen Paton
In relation to his separation from beauty queen Kathleen Paton, model Kirk Bondad made a statement.
Kirk, a Filipino-German, achieved the titles of Mister World Philippines 2022 and grand winner of Century Tuna SuperBod.
His brother, Clint Bondad, is also a model and was previously in a relationship with Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
Kathleen, a Fil-Australian, was crowned Miss Eco Philippines in October 2021 and later became Miss Eco International 2022.
Kirk took to Instagram to address their breakup, revealing that they had been separated for two months.
“I wanted to take a moment to address my recent breakup with Kath. We both decided to end our relationship two months ago, and I’m happy to say that it was a mutual and mature decision,” Kirk posted on Tuesday, May 10, 2023.
He acknowledged that their breakup was the best outcome for both of them, without delving into the deeper reasons for the relationship’s end.
“While it’s never easy to part ways with someone you care about deeply, we both knew that it was the best thing for us at this time,” he said.
In a significant statement, Kirk emphasized that an individual’s self-worth is not determined by their relationship status.
He highlighted the importance of being whole as a person, even outside of a romantic partnership.
“I want to emphasize that the value of oneself is never determined by the person you’re with, but by how you carry yourself through life. It’s essential to remember that you are a complete person, and your worth is not tied to your relationship status. It’s okay to take time for yourself, to heal, and to grow as an individual.”
Closing his statement, the model said, “Please know that we’re doing well, and we’re excited to see what the future holds. Thank you.”
