Manila, Philippines – The hotline number 8888 was launch on August 1, 2016. The hotline is set to be receiving any concerns of the citizens. According to the Assistant Commissioner Ariel Ronquillo of Civil Service Commission, the 8888 is now the national hotline and now is ready to accept services from agency to the government. This includes the complains of the delay of government services and the processing of documents that asks unnecessary and unneeded requirements.

Because of the mandatory of CSC that except of effectiveness, the employees should be more polite. If ever that the person was mistreated by any government officials on duty, the said person must be reported in the hotline 8888. The citizens are also allowed to report if they sense any corruption and their local government.

Ronquillo cited that they have receive complaining other private companies, even though it is not part of their jurisdiction, they still receive the call and give a response for the complaints and send to the government agency that could possibly give a solution about the complaint.

The complaint is immediately sent to the reported agency to give actions. In the moment that they receive a call, they immediately get the name of the caller, contact number and address or the place of employment. Then after the call, they then inform the reported company and wait for the response to know if the problem will be given any solutions.

Ronquillo added that after they get any information from the company they will be relay it to the caller to give feedbacks and updates for the result of complaints. If the complaints are about the irregularity in the government agencies or offices and they are not be able to give any actions immediately, they will going to refer it to the proper government agency to conduct of proper investigation and they will still give an update for the complaining citizens.

If the caller won’t give its name they will not going to force it, however, they cannot give any feedbacks to the caller. Ronquillo stressed that the hotline is a privilege to be used correctly and not to be played with pranks.
