Racial Threats
A Georgia couple were sentenced after waving a confederate flag and made armed threats against African-Americans at a child’s party. The couple was named Jose “Joe” Torres, sentenced to 20 years, with 13 years in prison after a jury convicted him on three additional counts of aggravated assault, and an additional count of making terroristic threats and another one count of violating the Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. and Kayla Norton, sentenced to 15 years, with 6 years in prison. She was convicted on one count of making terroristic threats and another one count for violating the Street Gang Act.
Based on the source. Last Monday this two learned the lesson of their lives. The party-goers said that the people on the trucks were yelling racial slurs as they passed. The drivers parked the trucks near the house.
Torres was part of the group that threatened to kill the party goers while repeatedly using derogatory words against them. Torres got a shotgun and pointed it to the group of African-American party-goers saying he is going to kill them, while another member of the group said that the “little ones can get one too”. Norton was accused of making similar threats. The victims said some member of Torres’ group was also armed with a knife and tire tools.

Fifteen members of the group were originally indicated. All of their cases is unknown, but the district attorney some of them pleaded guilty to the similar charges and eventually received a shorter sentence.
