According to Patria, he was initially approached by Duterte’s associate, Charlie Tan, on the night of February 23 and asked to accompany Duterte to a bar since Tan could not join them. Duterte later personally gave Patria ₱18,000 as a “tip,” and handed ₱5,000 each to two women Patria was with, saying he would give the same amount to each female companion they bring.
They then proceeded to Hearsay Bar in Obrero, where the night took a disturbing turn. Around 2:00 a.m., Duterte allegedly instructed Patria to provide three women to his bodyguards and driver. Patria complied. An hour later, Duterte returned to the bar and became angry upon learning that one of his bodyguards did not receive female company.
Duterte reportedly grew irate when one of the women questioned why she received only ₱1,000. Fueled by alcohol and anger, Duterte allegedly lashed out at Patria, pushing him down the stairs from the second floor, cursing at him, and eventually stabbing him in the side with a knife. Patria claims he was blocked from leaving the bar by Duterte’s bodyguards, who locked the door.
Patria also detailed how Duterte repeatedly headbutted him, slapped, kicked, and punched him for nearly two hours. At one point, Duterte allegedly instructed someone to turn off the bar’s CCTV cameras. Patria said he was given ₱1,000 for every strike he received.
Around 5:00 a.m., Duterte left the bar and reportedly went to Woodridge with one of the women, later threatening Patria with death if he failed to pay for the woman’s services.
As of this writing, Duterte has not issued a public statement regarding the allegations. Authorities have yet to confirm whether an official investigation is underway.
