Boxing legend Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has officially announced his return to the boxing ring, scheduled for January 24, 2026, in Las Vegas. “Hello to all my boxing fans. I’m excited to let you know I will be returning to the ring January 24 in Las Vegas,” Pacquiao said. “It is going to be an exciting and special event. Stay tuned. More news to come on my opponent in the next few days,” he added.

Pacquiao, who holds an impressive record of 62 wins, 8 losses, and 3 draws, including 39 knockouts, will be 47 years old when he steps back into the ring. Despite his age, Pacquiao remains one of the most respected and recognizable figures in the sport, known for his unmatched speed, power, and endurance.

While the eight-division world champion did not disclose his opponent, reports suggest that negotiations are underway for a possible bout with current World Boxing Association (WBA) champion Rolly Romero. Boxing insiders believe that Pacquiao is targeting the WBA welterweight title, which would offer him another chance to extend his record as the oldest welterweight champion in history.

“We are still negotiating and finalizing it,” Pacquiao revealed last week during the countdown event for Thrilla in Manila 2. His team is reportedly in ongoing discussions with Romero’s camp to finalize terms for the potential title clash.

Romero, aged 29, holds a professional record of 17 wins and 2 losses with 13 knockouts. His most recent victory was a unanimous decision win over Ryan Garcia, further establishing him as one of the rising stars in the welterweight division.

If the fight materializes, Pacquiao will aim to reclaim his place in boxing history. The Filipino legend last held the WBA (Super) welterweight belt in 2019 after defeating Keith Thurman at age 40, making him the oldest champion in that weight class. Earlier this year, Pacquiao made a brief comeback against Mario Barrios, ending in a majority decision draw after four years of inactivity.

Fans across the globe eagerly await confirmation of Pacquiao’s opponent, with many anticipating another historic night in Las Vegas for the “Pacman.”
