Pinoy ring icon Manny Pacquiao has message for the Filipinos on the burial of the ex-president at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
Fighting senator Manny Pacquiao has an appeal to the Filipinos following the decision of the Supreme Court on Tuesday allowing the burial of ex-President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
On Tuesday, by a vote of 9-5, the 15-man SC dismissed the consolidated petitions seeking to stop the burial backed by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte.
When asked for his comment, Pacquiao said, respect the Supreme Court’s decision, forgive the late dictator, and move on.
Pacquiao is from the United States and just return for work at the Senate fresh from his victory against Mexican-American Jessie Vargas on Sunday, Manila Time.
“Intindihin natin yung Constitution.
“At saka para sa akin, if we are claiming God, if we’re claiming that we believe God, we should forgive others,” he said.
He was also asked if he had any message to those opposing the Marcos burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
According to the fighting lawmaker, burying Marcos at the heroes’ cemetery was not against the law, since Marcos was elected president.
“Intindihin na lang natin. Para sa akin yung sugat siguro naghilom naman siguro yun, move on tayo,” said the senator.
He appealed to the Filipinos to respect the decision of the highest court on the petitions stopping the burial of the late dictator at Libingan ng mga Bayani.
