Filipino boxing superstar Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao was nearly hit outside a restaurant in Hollywood on late Sunday afternoon (Monday, April 4, 2016-Manila time).
According to the report of Spin.ph, the Sarangani province representative was nearly hit by a white male who’s around mid-30s as he was about to board his Ferrari at the parking lot of the Japanese restaurant.
The security was able to pacify the irate guy and pulled him away from the Fighting Congressman but he continued yelling at him.
“He was shouting, ‘F@#* you, F@#* you. You homophobic,” Pacquiao’s personal assistant David Sisso, recalled in a statement.
Authorities were not called to respond to the scene since the 37-year-old boxer called for an immediate release of the guy.
“Manny told them not to hurt the guy, and said, ‘Let him go, let him go,” Sisson added.
Edward Lura, longtime friend of Manny Pacquiao was the first to halt the man who grabbed Pacquiao from behind.
“I really thought he would hit Manny. He almost got to him,” David Sisson further added.
The incident happened at the time Pacquiao’s family and even the media left Kabuki restaurant.
Manny Pacquiao’s company has already expected such scene following the light of the controversy he and the LGBT community is involved with.
“We’ve expected it all along. I was actually surprised that it happened only once,” David noted.
David Sisson just quoted by saying ‘it’s better to love him (assailant) like (Jesus) Christ loves us.’
“Didn’t you hear him shouting, ‘F@# yow, F@# yow.’ Slang nga lang kaya iba intindi nyo,” he said in jest.
The eight-time world division champion, disregard the incident as if nothing happened and he then he went back to his mansion at Plymouth Blvd.
Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao is currently gearing up for his third fight against American boxer, Timothy Bradley.
