While Roxas is in Baguio, supporters of the former Interior Secretary gathered in food market in Araneta Complex in Cubao to celebrate his birthday.
In a video taken by one of his staff, Mar Roxas thanked his supporters dubbed as “The Slient Majority” who believe in him and who truly love him.
“Marami po ang ating damdamin pero parating nangingibabaw ang pasasalamat sa inyong lahat na nagtiwala at nagbigay ng suporta at talaga namang nagmahal sa akin at sa ating bansa. Maraming, maraming salamat. Mabuhay po kayo,” he said.
According to Roxas, they are cooling down a bit after the tough election. He also regrets that he was not able to join them on his birthday, but he promised to celebrate with them one of these days.
On Tuesday, Mar Roxas has conceded to presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte who is still leading partial vote counts. He is 6 million votes ahead of the Liberal Party standard-bearer.
Although Duterte has already won the presidential race, he has yet to be proclaimed.
Meanwhile, Mar Roxas’ running mate Leni Robredo is still in a close fight with Bongbong Marcos in the vice presidential race. Robredo is leading with about 300,000 votes ahead of the senator. The transmission votes is still ongoing.
