Mayon Volcano’s magnificent lava fountains captured in photos brought both amazement and worry for the people living near the area
The Mayon Volcano once again manifested its destructive but yet magnificent-looking lava showers the night of January 22, Monday at pass 9 o’clock.
In the previous weeks, residence near one of the Philippines’ tourists attractions, were alarmed as it started to manifest imminent danger for the people in the area and their properties.
Early of January, the most active volcano in the country exhibited steam-driven eruptions and rockfalls and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) stated that there is a formation of lava inside as the crater began to glow.
In a recent report of ABS CBN, it was said that the Phivolcs officials are still working out to determine the actual height of the lava spewed by Mayon last Monday night.
United States Geological Survey (USGS) said that lava fountains from the ‘perfect cone-shaped’ volcano ranged about 10 meters to 100 meters in height, and sometimes reach more than 500 meters, reportedly.
In line with the recent incident, the alert level on Mayon Volcano is now is being raised to one notch just below the highest warning.
Alert level 4 means that the danger zone is extended up to 8 kilometers already, based on the report.

Colors of red, yellow, and orange looked like the sparkles coming out from a New Year fireworks display.
The overflowing lava on the body of the volcano seems like a powerful falls spurting out a liquid which source is unknown to the eyes of many.
There are those who were so amazed upon seeing how beautiful the fountains of lava in photos but the realization that it is destructive increases worry for the safety of people near the area.
