Eleven years after their record-breaking showdown, boxing legends Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are finally set to meet again inside the ring.

Streaming giant Netflix officially announced that it will exclusively livestream the long-awaited rematch on September 19, 2026 (September 20 in Manila). The mega fight will take place at the futuristic Sphere in Las Vegas, marking the first-ever professional boxing match to be held at the state-of-the-art venue.
In a social media post, Netflix described the bout as a clash between “two of the greatest icons in boxing history,” confirming global live coverage for fans around the world.
Their first meeting in May 2015, famously dubbed the “Fight of the Century,” ended in a unanimous decision victory for Mayweather. The event shattered pay-per-view and revenue records, becoming one of the most financially successful fights in boxing history. However, despite public clamor for a second encounter, negotiations for a rematch repeatedly fell through in the years that followed.
Now aged 47 and 48, respectively, Pacquiao and Mayweather have both experienced retirement and brief returns to the ring. Pacquiao, the only eight-division world champion in boxing history, retired in 2021 after a loss to Yordenis Ugas. He later returned and fought Mario Barrios to a draw in July. The Filipino icon, who also ran for president in the 2022 Philippine elections, continues to stay active through exhibition and professional bouts. He is scheduled to face former world champion Ruslan Provodnikov in an exhibition match on April 18 in Las Vegas as part of his build-up.
Mayweather, who boasts a pristine 50-0 professional record, last fought in an official capacity in 2017 when he stopped Conor McGregor in the 10th round. Since then, he has participated in several high-profile exhibition fights. He is also set for another exhibition bout against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on April 25 before returning to professional competition.
As of Tuesday afternoon, neither fighter has issued a public statement regarding the rematch. Still, anticipation is already building worldwide as boxing fans prepare for what could be another historic chapter in one of the sport’s greatest rivalries.
