Sen. Miriam Santiago is currently in the Intensive Care Unit of MMC

Miriam Santiago is currently in the intensive care unit in Makati Medical Center. On Monday, the Senator was rushed into the hospital through an ambulance according Chelsea Deuz, the Public Affairs and Media Relation Officer.

Miriam was transferred to ICU from her private room yesterday night. Her husband, Narciso “Jun” Santiago, announced today the sad news.

Jun her husband added, that visitors will not be allowed. Also, gifts such as flowers and other blooms will not be accepted either.

On the other hand, he confirmed that the loved Senator is bearing well with her trademark sense of humor which might help in her recovery.

Miriam on the other hand, expressed her gratefulness to all her family who stays with her always, friends, supporters fans and other people who continually help in praying for her fast recovery and also to those who sent their well wishes in facebook.

Sen. Miriam Santiago was known sick and suffered complications even before the election period. It can be recalled that the “Iron Lady of Asia” suffered from health issues and announce it  to the public herself. Unfortunately, for the Senator lost in the recently concluded election.

In previous interviews, the strong woman claimed that she is doing fine because of the unnamed pill that she takes as her medication goes on. She even gives assurance that she will surely beat her disease soon and see the struggle as a challenge.
