A 23-year-old Slovakian woman who was reported missing on March 10, 2025, was found dead and in an advanced state of decomposition inside an abandoned chapel in Zone 3, Sitio Pinaungon, Barangay Balabag, Boracay Island, on the afternoon of March 12.

The victim has been identified as Michaela Mickova. According to a report from the Malay Police Station, her body was discovered at around 2:19 p.m., still wearing an upper garment but missing her lower clothing. She was also found wearing her shoes, and her belt bag was intact, but her wallet was missing.
Initial police investigation revealed that Mickova had sustained a stab wound to her abdomen. Authorities noted that her body was already in an advanced state of decomposition when it was found.
Mickova arrived in Boracay on March 1 to attend the wedding of her Filipina friend. However, she was reported missing on March 10, and two days later, she was found lifeless.
As of now, the police have not identified any persons of interest in connection with the crime. Authorities are conducting further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding her death and to identify possible suspects.
