Olongapo Casino Closed For 3 Days After Workers Tests Positive For Virus
ZAMBALES – The only casino in Olongapo City was closed after two casino dealers were found positive for COVID-19.
Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr announced on Thursday, July 30 that the casino would be shut down for 3 days for disinfection. Meanwhile, the other employees of the casino were required to undergo a medical examination as well.
Based on an article from Inquirer, among the infected workers was a 51-year-old man who had a travel history to Batangas. He was working alongside the other infected worker, a 53-year-old man. Along with them, two other patients were also reported on Thursday.
As per the article, the patients were a 57-year-old woman from Pasig City and a 65-year-old man who recently went to Baguio City. Currently, Olongapo has 31 confirmed cases of the deadly respiratory disease. Of this number, 14 have recovered from the virus.
Meanwhile, the Philippines has reported over 93,354 cases of the new coronavirus on Thursday with over 2,000 deaths. Around 4,000 new cases of the virus was recorded today similar to yesterday’s spike in numbers.

However, due to DOH’s recent change in its reporting system, the Philippines now has over 65,000 recoveries after. But, the health department’s move produced a massive outcry from lawmakers, netizens, and health experts as they now consider patients who complete the 14 day quarantine as “recovered”.
