Former ABS-CBN reporter now Radyo Inquirer 990AM anchor Ira V. Panganiban took to social networking site Facebook to share his sentiments over the airing of controversial anti-Duterte ad on national television particularly on ABS-CBN.

The veteran news reporter and Editor-in-Chief of Wheels Philippines Magazine lambasted the network giant after airing a political advertisement that targets presidential race front-runner and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

The open letter of the veteran journalist is currently making rounds online. It has generated numerous reactions from the netizens.

On Thursday night, May 5, 2016, an anti-Duterte political advertisement which was aired on network giant ABS-CBN drawn flak on social media.

The controversial TV commercial paid for by Sen. Antonio Trillanes landed as the hottest topic in various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and micro-blogging site, Twitter.

The TV ad features children reacting to the controversial remarks of the tough-talking Davao City mayor, including his controversial remark to an Australian missionary and “cursing” at Pope Francis.

Despite the controversial ad, solid Duterte supporters said that they won’t change their minds upon supporting the PDP-Laban standard-bearer in the May 9, 2016 elections on Monday.

ABS-CBN has released a statement for airing anti-Duterte ad which was paid for by Sen. Trillanes for 20 million. On the other hand, the vice presidential candidate aired an official statement over the pressing controversy.
