The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that easterlies continue to affect much of the country on February 26, 2026, bringing warm and humid conditions along with scattered rainshowers in several areas.

Weather Situation
Easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, are influencing the eastern sections of the Philippines. These winds are carrying moisture that is triggering cloud formations and thunderstorms, particularly in parts of Mindanao.
Residents in Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Oriental, and Zamboanga del Norte should expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Moderate to at times heavy rainfall may occur, raising the risk of flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas. Local disaster risk reduction offices in these areas are advised to closely monitor weather updates and be prepared for possible rapid changes in conditions.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. While much of the day may remain warm and dry, severe thunderstorms could develop, potentially leading to localized flooding or landslides. The public is encouraged to remain alert, particularly during the afternoon and evening when thunderstorms are more likely to form.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
Moderate winds from the east to northeast will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas. Coastal waters in these areas will be moderate, with wave heights ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters. Small sea vessels are advised to exercise caution.
In Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to north, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters. Similar wind conditions will affect the rest of the country, with waves reaching up to 1.8 meters.
Temperature and Humidity
For the 24 hours ending at 8:00 PM yesterday, the minimum temperature recorded was 22.5°C at 5:00 AM, while the maximum temperature reached 31.7°C at 2:00 PM. Relative humidity ranged from a low of 58 percent in the afternoon to a high of 93 percent in the early morning, reflecting generally humid conditions.
Flood Advisories
General Flood Advisories have been issued as of 6:00 AM today for Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) and Region X (Northern Mindanao). Residents in these regions are urged to stay vigilant and monitor official updates for any changes in weather conditions.
