The Philippine National Police (PNP) has confirmed that the so-called “angels of death” mentioned by the victims of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), are actual individuals and not spirits. According to PNP Public Information Office (PIO) Acting Chief and Spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo, they are currently investigating reports linking these “angels of death” to armed groups allegedly serving as Quiboloy’s private army.
Based on allegations, the “angels of death” were reportedly used by Quiboloy to intimidate victims and enforce a “code of secrecy” within the church. These individuals are said to be employed to prevent victims from speaking out about the abuses allegedly happening within KOJC. Despite Quiboloy’s continuous denial of these accusations, the armed group of his supporters has now become a central focus of the investigation.
Col. Fajardo also mentioned that the PNP will verify if the firearms possessed and used by these individuals are properly licensed. “We need to determine whether the firearms they are using have a License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and if these are registered,” Fajardo stated.
The accusations against Quiboloy and KOJC are not new. In recent years, several former members of the church have come forward to share their experiences of alleged abuse, intimidation, and the forced enforcement of rules within the KOJC. According to the victims, the “angels of death” served as a method to silence anyone who showed an intention to speak out against Quiboloy or the organization.
In addition to the ongoing PNP investigation, Quiboloy is also facing multiple cases both domestically and internationally. In the United States, he faces charges of human trafficking and sexual abuse, where victims have accused the pastor of widespread abuse of power. The recent reports of armed groups only add fuel to the growing controversy surrounding him.
