PH NATIONAL ID FEE – Here is a guide on how much you should prepare in applying for the Philippine National Identification Card.
One of the bills passed into law under the term of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is the Republic Act No. 11055 which seeks for the creation of the Philippine National ID Card.
Also known as Philippine System Identification Act or PhilSys Act, the law mandates the creation of a single ID card for the Filipinos and the other nationalities living the country that will stand as the official ID.
The said Philippine National ID Card will contain the demographic information of the person including his or her name, gender, date and place of birth, address, citizenship, marital status, mobile number, and e-mail address.
Aside from the aforementioned information, the card will also contain the biometric information of the person. It will include the photograph, the fingerprints, and the iris scan of the cardholder.
With regards to the PH National ID Fee, applicants won’t have anything to worry about. It can be applied for free at any of the following government agencies in the Philippines:
- Social Security System (SSS)
- Regional and provincial offices of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
- Government Service Insurance System (GSIS)
- City or Municipal Civil Registry Office (LCRO)
- Commissions on Elections (COMELEC)
- Postal Office
- Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth)
- Pag-IBIG or Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF)
The PH National ID Fee is free for both Filipino applicants and foreign residents in the country. According to PSA, a trial run was set in December 2018 and will fully be implemented in September 2019 under positive results.
